..Stalking through the tall grass, a dark grey wolf with blotched light on over her body passed through the windswept grasslands, her pale golden eyes scanning the open lands before her, or at least what she could see of them, due to most of it being blocked by trees, rocks and hills. Seeing nothing worth taking interest in, she paused for a moment to catch her breath. She had been wandering for hours, and had needed a rest. She needed food. She needed water.
..After waiting for a few moments, her ears flickered, picking up on a sound she had somehow missed amidst the sound of blowing leaves and grass. The sound was that of a river, trickling beyond her sight. Nearby, but still hidden. Raising herself with haste, she scanned the area around her again, unsure how she had missed the small stream.
..Blinking in confusion, she look again, but still she saw no river. "Maybe I'm just going insane.." She thought to herself, moving onwards, having decided the she had rested long enough. Her senses were starting to fail her. She needed feeding, or she would become incapable of fending for herself. The tight flesh over her ribs were an obvious sign.
..Blinking, she looked upon what looked to be a gap in the tall grass ahead of her, a possible dip. Following it with her eyes, she realised that this was a small valley in the plains, and the source of the stream-like sounds. Padding towards it faster, she cursed her stupidity and blindness. To her weary eyes, from her low position, she had missed the ditch entirely. This mistake could have cost her dearly, so she was thankful.
..Padding down into the ditch, the female cursed as she lost her footing, the ground falling away from beneath her paws. Collapsing into a pile beside the stream, she stayed grounded for a while, catching her breath again. Standing carefully, she padded over to the stream, looking down into her reflection. "Such a sorry sight I am.." Growling quietly, she swiped a paw at the reflection, momentarily clearing it.
..Bending her head downwards, the female lapped at the flowing stream, drinking graciously. This was the first drink she had taken in days. Continuing to drink in an almost pig-like way, she flattened her ears, blocking out everything around her. She wanted water, not concerns. She didn't care if another wolf was nearby. She didn't care if she was about to be killed. She just wanted water.
