// Little Eileen lounges near the river. She was still rather small. It seemed she had inherited her mother's slight stature. Despite this, she was more than pleased to accept the fact. She didn't mind being little. Although her brother seemed to enjoy picking on her. Speaking of which, she hears him stalking through some foliage a few yards away.
Corey was presently hunting, of all things, a beetle. Crouched low to the ground, he follows it at a short distance. Grinning like an idiot, he launches himself forward, frightening the creature into scurrying and flying away and making a ruckus of a crash as he winds up slamming into a tree. Yeah, he wasn't the most coordinated canine. He could control himself when it depended on eating, but at the moment he was happy to simply goof around.
Yards away, as she hears the graceless fwump, Eileen sighs and rolls her eyes theatrically. "Aren't you a little old to be playing around like that?" she calls after him.
At his sister's taunting, his throat rumbles with a playful growl as he trots easily into her view. "Says the one that never even played as a pup," he scoffs. He approaches her and noses her shoulder once before leaping over her and catching her ear between his teeth.
She'd been about to explain how she did in fact play, just not as rambunctiously as her siblings, when she feels him yank on her ear. Her other ear flattens, not amused, and she growls at him, snapping at his face. When he doesn't relinquish his hold, she whines and leans toward him to lessen the pull. He laughs, "Aww, you're no fun. You always give up so quick!" He releases her and skulks away a few steps before plopping down, crossing his paws and resting his pouting face on his forelegs.
Eileen merely settles back down, curling up loosely in the little layer of snow. She was used to her brother doing such things. Being the calmest of the litter, she'd always been prone to being picked on. Thank goodness there were only three of them. If it had been a larger litter, she could imagine that she'd really be pushed to the edge. Hearing her mother's approach, she grins and acknowledges with a shrill note of her own. Her brother simply glances in the direction of her approach.
Meanwhile, the ground was blanketed with a decently thick layer of snow as the small fae patrolled the borders of the little pack. Pack. That was a new feeling. Yes, she had grown rather accustomed to having her mate with her and then their pups, but thinking of them as a pack felt unusually thrilling. Who would've ever thought that she would grow to become an alpha starting out as a tiny runt. Well, she was still rather tiny. But that was beside the point. She seemed to fill her responsibilities efficiently enough. She pauses, stopping to remark a fading edge of their territory. Sniffing the renewed marks, she nods, satisfied and continues on her way. She was just finishing her run of the perimeter and was planning on heading back to the rendez-vous. As she pads past her starting point, she changes direction, aiming for the den. She releases a short note, making her approach known as she nears the clearing.
She comes near enough in time to hear the little scuffle between her children and she frowns. She was a bit worried about Eileen. Not only did she seem a bit stunted growth-wise, she hadn't been quite as eager to play as her siblings and thusly, her hunting skills were rather lacking. She'd have to talk to Mord about that, she supposed. Perhaps they could speak on a little hunting trip. They could use the food and the pups were certainly old enough to be left alone for a while. With that thought, she raises her snout again, calling for her mate, inquiring as to his location. \\
((Heee-ey, that's pretty good for me Though I'm sure I'll come back to read it later and find it to be complete rubbish. I got bored and wanted to do something /productive/ for a change. I figured this might give us the chance to do that thing with the weird old coyote and the pups? Or if you have something else in mind, that works too. I can edit this if I need to so it fits into a plot or something. Just trying to get some writing out for a change. And I missed writing Sonora. <3 I need to develop the pups a bit more.. Not too sure how I want them to end up. X3
Aaaand would you say that the pups are probably about a year old now? I forget when they were born. I'd have to dig around the old forum...))
((edit- Holy crap, I was right.. I'm gonna have to come back later and fix this. -_-''))
