Since the seasons havnt been changed in.. how long, I think a date should be set to change the seasons, or atleast, some way to do time in rp, like one-two rl week is one rp month, just another one of those things that hit me upon starting, there was no set season changing dates...
suggestion
early winter ~ feb 3 mid winter ~ feb 10 late winter ~ feb 17 etc.
OR
early winter ~ feb 10 mid winter ~ feb 24 late winter ~ mar 10 etc.

Once again, I stand by what I said in the other thread. The way things run around here have worked beautifully for years. I don't see any need to change it. With the way RW, Breeze, myself, and the rest of us oldies frequently have little to no time to rp due to several real life responsibilities. At some times there probably wouldn't even be someone here to change the season. They're fine as they are right now. They are changed as plots are planned out and as RW sees fit. Which is generally in accordance with the rest of us..
Too many rules and restrictions such as these that you are suggesting would make this site very difficult to maintain and would severely impact the level of enjoyment we can receive from the site. I can't speak for the rest of the oldies, but I assume I'm at least off in the same general direction as the rest of 'em.

I actually hate it when the seasons change, lol. It seems that as soon as I start getting into a thread and getting used to the seasons as they are, they go and change. Granted....I havent been posting very often *cough* but still. I don't know if the threads move fast enough to be able to work well in a scheduled season-change system.

If it ain't broke, don't fix is it, as they say. We play pretty fast and loose with time here, which means a set date for season changes would trip us up.
I appreciate that you're trying to help out, but why don't you see how things are run before suggesting ways to change them? Certain rules here at GF aren't typical for RP sites, but they make sense once you've worked with them for a while.

Aw, look at all of you, standing behind your dreadfully inept leader. I think there's something in my eye...
As a more serious note, I'm inclined to agree with my membership. The problem with this site is not so much that the seasons don't change - they do - but rather that some of the plots take a loooong time to be hashed out. If we suddenly changed the season during such a plot, it would be something of a train wreck. Generally, when some bigger plots are wrapping up and things are getting boring, I'll make a topic giving a heads-up that seasons are soon to be changing. S'alright?

well, you do know I havnt been here long, so, things like this are abit odd to me because I don't (or, didn't) know how they are run.. and I really mainly wanted to know for reasons like when characters should age.. I guess I'll just go back to rping again till I possibly find something else to bring up, which will possibly be rejected again xD

As far as I'm aware, characters age as you see fit. Obviously, they can't just never age or suddenly go from pup to full blown adult, but each individual is responsible for their own characters aging. In fact, I don't think some of us know how old some of our charas are anymore. It's generally a rough estimate I suppose. ;P
And RW, of course we all stand behind you. You've set up a good system here and personally, I love it. <3

As far as I'm aware, characters age as you see fit. I know about that Nicole, but I prefer to keep certain things right, like with this site, I'm going to age my characters properly with the seasons lol..

I agree with everyone else. And in the case of aging with the seasons, then I think you puppies may be young for a long time. xD

They do pretty much age with the seasons, though.
Our threads, especially those with young in them, tend to wrap up at about the time a season is changing. It's just kind of always worked out that way.
Like, we know it's winter (or whatever it is now) but when we play our pups a few weeks ahead in life, it's still about winter, and we just mention the differences the weather would be having in that time.
And then, by the time we get around to running a thread in which the seasons would need to have changed, that's about the time that they actually are.
The changing of the seasons largely rely on activity and what's going on with the threads, and I'm glad for it. Otherwise, time would be flying by and leaving the story behind. Here, the story (which is really my favorite part of this site) dictates the movement of time, and not the other way around. I tend to get aggravated and feel left behind on other sites for this very reason, because--like you say--I'd like my character's growth to match the seasons.
