Character name: Silberne
Species: Wolf, European Wolf x Grey Wolf hybrid.
Gender: Male
Age: Three years old.
Description: In the image above, he is the wolf on the right.
Personality: For his age, Silberne is incredibly mature and strong both mentally and physically. He has become a guardian for his sister, and also a translator for whatever she has to say (you'll see why in Esme's form below). Despite being quite serious and stern, he is quite friendly although he requires to be cautious for the sake of his twin, and he is fairly open towards those that he is comfortable around and knows to an extent. His relationship with his sister is a firm one that would be extremely hard to break should anything go wrong. They work together more like accomplices rather than brother and sister. Silberne knows that he needs to keep himself as strong as possible and watch out for his sister.
Character name: Esme
Species: Wolf, European Wolf x Grey Wolf.*
Gender: Female
Age: Three years old.
Description: In the image above, she is the wolf on the left. Note that she is more petite than her twin brother, and is rather less beige-coloured around her muzzle. Also not shown in the image is that Esme is mute: she uses her brother to emit what she has to say about the situation via her own devised method that she has adapted over the years for Silberne alone to understand.
Personality: While Silberne is her mouth, Esme is Silberne's eyes and ears. She is incredibly observant, one of the few skills that is benefitial of being voiceless, and also very intelligent. She is the kindest and most accepting of the pair, but might not be able to show it due to Silberne's firm, cautious nature. Of course, it would be nearly impossible to know what she is thinking without her brother around to relay messages, but with careful tutoring to a select few that she trusts, others could learn how to interpret her mood and thoughts. Aside from that, she is occasionally playful, but most of the time, serene and curious.
Their history: Like most young wolf pups, the twins were born in a litter of six to the alphas of their pack. Esme was the runt of the litter, but something made Silberne not want to treat her like their littermates and packmates did. He found that it would be better to take care of her, and help her to become stronger, than leave her to become trampled in her efforts to compete with their siblings. They were more or less attatched to each other from the first few weeks after their eyes opened. Both pups learned quickly, grasping at knowledge offered to them. Esme, of course, could not share her understanding of anything with anyone apart from her brother. Their parents were painfully ashamed to have produced a mute; they could not see past Esme's flaws and into the wolf that she could become.
When the time arrived for their first hunt, Silberne stayed by Esme's side. The pack were hunting a herd of elk, and on the approach, Esme became distracted by a hare nearby, and chased after it. The rest of the pack ignored her, but her brother followed her. When she eventually gave up the chase, her twin scolded her and they returned to where their pack had been, and headed in the direction of the herd of elk. They continued on for several hours, occasionally with Silberne calling out for their family to find them, but to no avail; they did not respond. As the sun began to set, Esme informed her brother that she noticed smoke winding its way above the hills in the distance. They knew of man, and decided not to approach, and could only imagine what had happened to their pack, and hope that they did not head into man's village. When they returned back to the pack dens, the other wolves were nowhere to be seen. The two waited there in vain for a week, before giving up and venturing into the forest, where they searched for a month or more for their missing packmates, occasionally returning to the den.
They have been roaming the forests alone for quite some time, whereupon they found the existence of Gallop Free.
* It is believed that their European wolf ancestry comes from the fact that their European ancestors may have either escaped from a wildlife park/zoo, or released into the wild, where they bred with the Grey wolves populating the area.
