Feel free to veto either fish species, RW; I figured large cichlids would be okay, but I’m not entirely sure, heh.
Character Name: Della
Species: Zebra Finch
Gender: Female
Age: 1 year
Brief Personality Synopsis: A bright, aggressive bird with a sarcastic, snappy manner of speech. Despite all of this, she’s reasonably social and very maternal -- although her protectiveness extends to rather frightening lengths. Somewhat hostile towards other female finches due to the fact that they were the only company she was allowed while in captivity.
History of Liberation: Pet store plot.
Character Name: Hyakinthos
Species: Flowerhorn cichlid
Gender: male
Age: 2 years
Brief Personality Synopsis: Hyakinthos is a broody, depressed animal, and one often ill due the poor conditions of his too-small tank (granted, it’s a forty gallon -- but it’s also constantly full of large cichlids and goldfish). He lacks the normal aggressive temperament of cichlids, and is more inclined to stay out of the way of his fellow fish than to pick fights with them; indeed, when the tank is stocked with aggressive fish, Hyakinthos ends up with nibbled fins and an empty belly. He is not talkative; even direct, persistent questions will garner only a monosyllabic answer.
History of Liberation: Pet store plot.
Notes: Hyakinthos has languished in the pet store for a remarkably long time due to his high price tag; the normal patrons of the shop simply aren’t the sort to spend much money on a fish. His large size also puts off potential buyers -- even a fool can see that a foot-long fish can’t be kept in a six-inch bowl.
Character Name: Ingvild
Species: Oscar cichlid
Gender: female
Age: 6 months
Brief Personality Synopsis: Exuberant, aggressive, and a tad bit hyperactive; Ingvild has more energy than her tank has space, and it’s her tank mates who suffer for it. She is, as one might predict, a terrible companion for Hyakinthos. She finds his reticence to be great fun, seeing as harassing him for answers to banal questions can occupy her for hours.
