All The Little Branches
All The Little Branches is a is an intermediate-level multiple-game board with a focus on developing writing skills, increasing member involvement in plots, and providing fun role-playing opportunities; game genre ranges from surreal fantasy to animal realism.
There are currently five games at ATLB:
The Hybridism Cycle is composed of two games, Contretemps and Salmagundi; both explore the possibilities and difficulties of human/animal hybridization without succumbing to the glamour of nature-worship. In the former, an experiment gone wrong has caused all the living beings in the world to take on characteristics of other species. The human world falters as animal instincts compromise the efficiency of society; soon, it seems political and social upheaval will tear down civilization itself. In Salmagundi, humanity has fallen; but it has left the legacy of the hybrids, who are inclined to create primitive human societies warped by their animal instincts. In both games, multi-species animal hybrids must cope with the strangeness of conflicting urges.
The RPG Dr. Circelli's introduces a world in which animals are transferred into human bodies as part of an experiment meant to delve into animal psychology, the abolishment of physical disabilities, and immortality via technology. Conflict between animal instinct and human expectations, the ethical questions generated by the transfer, and interaction between the staff and characters generate fuel for player-governed plots.
At Tower, the player’s personal characters are abducted from their own universes and plopped into a bizarre skyscraper, where they must cope with each other’s antics as well as the fickle environment. The focus of the game is on harassing the characters and having fun doing it, with little attention paid to serious plotting or development. All boards which contain character information are members-only areas.
The Minigames allow players to create their own RPGs without any constraints on settings or rules.
