Attention Members!
I regretfully inform you that my declining personal health and increasingly busy schedule essentially puts me on "haitus" untill further notice. Animatus is a site that I love dearly and have participated in for years, but at some point one has to examine their priorities and decides what stays, and what goes. Presently my life affords none of the free time required for hours of RPing, which with my number of characters and involvement in plots is essentially what Animatus has come to require of me. I may at some point over the next month or so massacre my character lists and plot participation and become active again with very few characters. Or I may remain inactive until further notice. Users are encouraged to continue playing and forming plots, and are welcomed to leave any threads I am in if you feel you would do better to RP with someone more devotedly active. Until we meet again!
Regards, RandomWiktor, Site Admin
Welcome to Animatus!
This is a multiple game text-based roleplaying site with a strong focus on animal (semi)realism. We are host to four active games currently, all of which have minimal structure to encourage creativity and player-based plot formation. We pride ourselves on permitting a greater range of species than most animal RPGs, as well as having little interference from moderators. This is also a place for those interested in animal-based writing genres to practice their skills; we strongly encourage quality, productive writing.
Please read all rules before playing and above all else: enjoy!

Name: Denica [De-Nee-Ka] Species: Arctic Fox Gender: Female Age: One and a half years Description: Denica is pure white, with little flaws. She is considered slightly large for her age and species, but is built elegantly, alot less thickly then the others*, and is a great runner when threatened. *is it possbile for a fox to be considered thick? w/e Personality: Denica may physically be sexually mature, but she is still very naïve mentally. Denica may be physically superiour to alot of her siblings, but she is cowardly as well. Not liking pain in the slightest, she would go to extremes to avoid it. History:coming when I can be bothered..

With Soo-Dae preoccupied waiting at the entrance of an empty hole, this was Erikia's chance to escape. But she had to be quiet, or else she would alert the dog of her tentative getaway. She planted one paw on the trunk of the tree. Oh, dear. This was not going to be easy. She was fairly high up the tree, and she was sure if she jumped down she would injur something. If she tried to scramble down the tree, Soo-Dae would know she was trying to get away.
Erikia looked around for a different route. A few trees over, there was a low hanging branch. Just...how to get there. She didn't climb trees on a regular basis. In fact...she didn't climb trees at all! Slowly and quietly, she made her way over to the end of the current branch she was on. The next branch over was about 4 feet away. Bunching the muscles in her haunches, she leaped the distance, her paws scrabbling to get a good grip on the branch.
She twisted her lithe body around that tree to get to the closest branch to the next. Just a few more jumps and she would be there...Bunching her muscles again, she leaped and reached the tree of her goal. She began to quickly jump from branch to branch until she was close enough to reach the ground.
She would have to do this right. There was a bunch of leaves on the ground, so if she jumped it would be loud enough to alert Soo-Dae, so she would have to get out of there, FAST. Getting her feet ready, she leaped and touched the ground. As soon as her paws hit the leaf litter, she skidded and ran as fast as her legs could carry her.
She looked back to see if the dog was following, then looked forward....and crashed into an eagle feeding from a still-alive rat.

Reyk was surprised that these two ducks didn't chase him or swim away from him...every time he had encountered a bird, they had always been hostile or wary. So what made these two different?
"Um, hi, my name is Reyk, nice to meet you two..."
When Canard skimmed over to Pato and whispered something into his ear, Reyk lowered his head nervously. It was no doubt that the duck was whispering about him. I mean...what's more unusual than finding a baby gosling all alone in the wild? If he were an adult, then he would probably feel the same way.
Then they hit him with the question he didn't really feel like answering...How did he get separated from his mother. He didn't really feel like telling them around how we was so sick that his mother abandoned him when he was little, so he decided to bend the truth a little.
"Umm...there was a sudden storm...and I got separated from my family..."
That was sort of the truth, because after his foster mother adopted him, then he considered her family to be "his" family too...Not his chick-abandoning parents. And the storm was the truth, too. So he "technically" wasn't lying to the two ducks...
Suddenly rain started pouring out of nowhere. A splash behind him startled him, and he quickly turned around to see a bullfrog jump into the water. Laughing at how spooked he was at the harmless creature, he turned around and saw Canard huddling into Pato. Pato winked at him.
Reyk laughed a little gosling-honk-laugh. Maybe he would be able to warm up to these two ducks, even though they were no geese themselves. He swam a little closer, but, not knowing if they would want a little baby bird following them everywhere, kept a slight distance.

Snare shrugged. If she didn't want some rabbit, then that was fine with him. But, then, he remembered that Katariina was his friend now. "Are you....sure you don't want any?" Saying the words slowly was especially difficult, especially because he had grown up with ermines, and even though he was especially energetic among his species, his brothers and sisters could match the speed of his speech also.
Another thing he was not used to is not...jumping...around! Though the rabbit hunt had used up some of his energy, the cold was still penetrating his fur and reaching his skin. Argh!! He shivered a little bit, which was, what he supposed, was the best he could do in the company of Katariina. If he couldn't talk fast, and if he couldn't run around, was it really worth being friends with a deaf marten? Of course it was! He had been alone for some time now and was craving company.
Anyway, the rabbit was going to get cold if he didn't eat it, so he expertly tore open the rump and began feeding on the delicious insides.
Ziira looked down, confusion obvious in her features. She opened her mouth to answer at the neive pup, one that could forget winter, before she shut her mouth and thoguht dumbly to herself.
When is winter?
She looked towards her brother for the answer, but he just shrugged and walked around the den, looking for something interesting to do inside. Turning, she walked back out of hte den to Denegrad, and asked him in an even tone, trying to mask any other thoughts in her head.
Do you know when winter is? We all forgot..

The frog hopped away after a few minutes of being chased around. Toki watched it bound towards the forest and a brown leaf landed on her muzzle. "Well, that's a good thing... cause the trees are shedding" She shook her head and it fell off.
Then, she started to worry about remembering her old life.
What else did she forget?
Her mother's scent? Her Brothers and sisters? The day she was kicked out? No, I doubt I'll forget that one...
Maybe it'll do me some good to forget... If i were to go back... If that alpha is still there... i'd be killed for sure...
She pushed that thought away and walked into the den. with Ziira. (OOC: we were outside right?) She sat down in the den next to Ziira and got a different thought. "Um, when is winter coming anyway?"
